Here is a sketch from Tamara: Here is what I came up with. Trying to get some mojo back after several days of not being able to play in my scraproom. Sorry, the color is off a bit, does look better IRL. The main image and brackets are on foam squares.
Stamp: Whipper Snapper
Paper: Tulip, Honey; Citrus Leaf and White Daisy cardstock
I am in Victoria right now with hubby. He is on a 2 day coaching clinic and asked if I wanted to come. The kids are at their grandma's and I am on my own to do some shopping! Jason was surprised when he found out kids weren't coming, "you really are going to have fun" was his response. Of course I am! Truth be told though, I really am not a shopper, I'll be 'done' by noon and will still have a day and a half to go! Don't get me wrong, if I was in a scrapbooking/stamping/papercrafting area, I could go for days, just not a girlie girl that loves shopping for clothes and stuff. Although my first stop will be Lululemon, I do love their hoodies!
So no posting this weekend, hopefully early next week I will be in the scraproom. I haven't really had time. I am soooo.... overwhelmed at work. I am now doing a K/1 rather than a grade one class - those kindies are so little! I have never taught Kindergarten before, and that tied with the 7 kids that are very needy really tuckers me out! Hopefully things will smooth out a bit and I can do more scrapping but until then, I will post when I can!
Cammie has an awesome blog candy giveaway. She is asking for you to make cards for the nurses and such that help people with Alzheimer's. I am going to give these to our Old Age Home here in town, what a great idea Cammie!
This is CPS sketch this week: I didn't have much time to play but I snuck in a few minutes before delving back into my teaching stuff - ugh so much to do so little time! This is the card I came up with. A simple card (no sewing!) and quick, gotta like that sometimes!
I have been tagged by Eulanda, Lynn, and Jennifer. I better get tagging before I have no one to tag! Here are the rules:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog. 2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. 3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs. 4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
So here goes, 7 facts about me:
1. I get really irritated when I can't get into my scraproom to play. You can imagine how happy I am now when I really did not get in there all last week, and only a couple of times this weekend!!! 2. I sleep completely covered in the blankets, with only a little hole for my mouth! 3. I'm with Lynn on the cooking and that question "What's for dinner?", I hate cooking and one day I will answer: "Whatever you are cooking!" Actually my kids know they fend for themselves on Friday and most often Saturday nights so their question then becomes: "Mom, are you cooking supper tonight?" ! 4. I would love to be published in a Card making magazine 5. I love pink, always have, always will 6. Not a fan of coffee, I'm a tea drinker 7. I've got my Christmas shopping pretty much done! Only have hubby's and my kids gifts to get! What am I going to do with all my extra cash in the next few months!?
Page Plans is another blog with sketches, both for cards and scrapbooking. Here is the card layout this week. Here is my card. I love these 'kid quote' stamps from Inkadinkadoo, they are just so darned cute. Michael's had their stamps on 40% off so I picked up a few of these sentiment stamps. I thought this one worked perfectly with Grumpabella! Here robe is fun flocked.
Eulanda wondered what I do with all the cards I make. Honestly, I stockpile most of them! LOL! I just so enjoy the process of creating the cards that most of the time I am not thinking about where they are going; once in a while they have an intended recipient but not usually. I have a great sister in law that loves my cards so she often gets them for gifts (hopefully she doesn't read this post!). I also send them to my good friend who lives out of town either as gifts or as a 'just because'. Now I pose the question to all of you, what do you do with all of your cards???
I struggled with Taylor's sketch this week (I guess that is why it is called a challenge!). I love this little Tiddly Ink stamp from Stamping Bella, however I never am totally happy with the cards I make with it. I tried to make this one very girly - sparkles and gems.
This is my simple card. I am slowly making my way through my Christmas card list. All supplies are CTMH except Cuttlebug trees. Stamp: Say it in Style Paper: Evensong Creative Basics DP; Cranberry, Colonial White, Olive and New England Ivy cardstock gems: Sparkles (CTMH) cuttlebug folder
Here is Beate's sketch for this week. This is my card. So out of my box! I am not sure why I ever ordered this paper from CTMH, I am not into bright colors, and don't really like purple! I guess the flowers got me! I tried to make it look like this little mouse was hopping around in a daisy patch.
I found another sketch blog called Triple the Sketch. They have both card and layout sketches. Here is the layout one for this week. Here is what I came up with. All supplies are CTMH except Flourish stamp and baubles.
Stamps: January Word Puzzle; Journalling Jots; Circle Around (all CTMH); Flourish (Basic Gray)
Papers: Aspen Level 2 DP; Pink Carnation DP and Cardstock
Finally able to squeeze some time in my scraproom. I didn't have a whole lot of mojo but I do like this card. The table and flower are on foam squares. The vase and her lips have liquid glass. Papers: CTMH Stamp: Hannah Marble Coffee Bean dots (Stampingbella)
This is the OCC sketch for this week. I didn't have a lot of mojo tonight so my card is simple. I love this new Bella, she can be used for so many things. I also haven't used my More to Adore paper in awhile, I used it so much when it first came out I got tired of it. It was good to pull it out again.
I was inspired by Kath's card, although the thought had crossed my mind to make a pink snowman card, I never did it. After seeing Kath's card, I HAD to! A simple card, but sometimes that is ok! All supplies are CTMH except snowflake punch, baubles and sentiment. Stamps: All Decked Out (Nov. SOTM); sentiment (Hero Arts) Paper: Blush DP; white daisy and blush cardstock baubles: Stampingbella
Here is Taylor's sketch from this week. Here is the card I made. I received the image from Sue and ordered the sentiment stamp to gowith it. Love this sentiment! The Bella is on a foam squares. I colored it with my copics.
Here is Jen's Sketch for this week. Here is my card. All supplies are from CTMH except Daisybella and spiral punch. The image and the three flowers are on foam squares. I colored her in with my copics. Just realized forgot to put my little tiny gem on the flower on her shirt so off to do that right now!
Stamps: Classmate Alphabet; Circle Around; Delight in Everything (all CTMH); Daisybella (Stampingbella)
Paper: Notebook Paper level 2; Black and White Daisy cardstock
Finally able to play with this weeks SCS sketch challenge. I just received Merrybella and had to ink her up! Her dress and hat have red fun flock, the boots red glitter and the hat trim and pom poms have white fun flock. The image is on foam squares as is the main panel. The sentiment has been covered with a circle Window Charm. All supplies are from CTMH, except Bella, leaf punch and Bella dots. Paper: Evensong Creative Basics DP; New England Ivy, Tulip and White Daisy cardstock Stamps: Merry Melodies (CTMH); Merrybella (Stampingbella) ribbon and window charm (CTMH); red dots (Stampingbella); red fun flock (Stampingbella); White fun flock (CTMH) Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
This is my card for this weeks Bella Sketch Challenge. It is pretty simple. I used fun flock on the jacket collar and trim. The main panel is on foam strips and Bella is on Foam Squares. Stamps: Ipodabella (Stampingbella); sentiment (a few CTMH stamps) Papers: Magic Moments level 2, Indian Corn Blue, Sweet Leaf cardstock (all CTMH) Big Blooms, cocoa ribbon (CTMH)
Over on the Verve section of SCS there is a challenge that goes on until noon tomorrow. I just found it this morning before work so I was determined to try it. Tonight I got into my scraproom around 7:30 and worked until 10:00. The challenge is to use a 6 X 6 piece of double sided DP (or 2 different ones) cut to certain dimensions and used in 4 sketches to make cards. I chose to do Christmas cards. I didn't have a lot of time so I kept them simple. Now wouldn't it be great to be the winner of the challenge and win all of the new releases?!! I have my fingers crossed!
